Global trade is very much in the limelight and with an estimated 85% of all globally traded goods being transported by ship, ports have a major role to play in the worldwide supply chain. The World Economic Forum stated in 2016 that ‘the world was standing on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another’.
